Objectives:

1 – The education of highly qualified agents, able to develop processes in this domain, particularly at the levels of conception, use, recreation and cooperative support to the management of sports spaces and facilities.
2 – At the end of the course, students should master the fundamentals, the theoretical and theoretical-practical knowledge, the main analysis and intervention tools, the processes, techniques and regulations necessary to the pursuit of superior skills in the field of the use of facilities and support for the corresponding management from the coach's point of view.
3 – They should also be able to intervene in the support to the management of sports spaces and inbuilt activities, from an integrating interdisciplinary point of view.

Contents:

1. Concept.
2. Typologies Sports Facilities
2.1. Basic
2.2. Specialized or Mono-discipline
2.3. For Sports Performances
2.4. Recreation and Natural spaces
3. Management - Matrix BCG decision-making. Index items: Space; Time; Material, Human, Financial resources; Information; Administration Types: public, partial, concessioned, and private administration. Contracts. Management of sports complexes: Public, Private, Cooperative, Clubs, community or religious Org., etc. Computer Tools: Programming tasks.
4. Management of spaces: vocations; competition use.
5. Maintenance - Concept. Strategies. Operations: Continuous, periodic, specific. Norms: safe-security, hygiene, functioning, etc. Sports comfort: aesthetic, acoustic, auditory, thermic, hygrometric, kinaesthetic. The discomfort. Special populations.
6. Economics Life Cycle;incomes, expenses; Costs of use; index ratios. Sports accounting of natural spaces.
7. Quality Management – EFQM, CAF, TQM, Process, Products, Services, Technologies.

Evaluation:

1 – Research, Project Works and Reports about the sports facilities visited.
Or
2 – Final Exam – the first option is preferable.
The exercise proposed in work processes and in Evaluation Process includes a link to the reality focused on structures, organizations and Space and Sport Facilities' problems. It starts with the establishment of a doctrinal framework to address contextual issues identified in Space and Sport Facilities, focused on citizenship, sportsmen and Sport System in general needs. It addresses the main rationales tools in the decision-making processes and the challenge increases in policies of Sport Facilities and Sport System. It addresses also the published Legislation (national and specific) and rules of good practices in its use.
